EGE preparation with a tutor

A breakdown of task types, past-year problems and the FIPI bank (the official bank of exam tasks) in lessons — plus courses with tests on the platform so you can work on your own between lessons.

EGE preparation

How the EGE differs from the OGE

The EGE (the final school-leaving exam in Russia) has harder tasks and less time to prepare than the OGE (the 9th-grade exam). So more commitment is needed from the student: it's important to know what score they are aiming for and to be ready to work independently no less than in lessons.

  • It makes sense to start in 10th grade, and to go deeper into some topics while still preparing for the OGE.
  • Independent work matters as much as the lessons — without it you can't work through enough problems.

What we do in lessons

Task types

We go through practice papers and the different variants of each task, so that at the exam a problem looks familiar rather than new.

Revisiting past topics

Every so often we revise older topics through problems: otherwise they fade by May.

The FIPI bank and past years

We look at problems from the open task bank and work through difficult tasks from past years.

Extended-answer part

The tutor checks how the student writes up a solution: the student talks through every step and, if needed, sends photos or scans of the write-up.

Lesson plan

The tutor draws up a plan for the specific student: how many lessons a week and over what period depends on the starting level, the target score and how much the student is ready to work on their own. There is no universal program that would suit everyone.

  • The schedule is kept on the platform, and the student sees upcoming lessons.
  • Courses and tests are opened by the tutor for the student — topics can be practiced between lessons.
  • The history of attempts on each test is saved: you can see what has improved and what is standing still.

Frequently asked questions

Will they get the score they need?

It depends on the student's drive, their readiness to study independently and their aptitude for the subject. Nobody can guarantee a score from the outside — anyone who promises a specific number in advance is being disingenuous.

What score do you predict?

What a student can solve now does not show what will happen at the exam. Knowledge and the number of task types practiced account for roughly 65–75% of success. The rest is how well they sleep before the exam and how they feel mentally and physically on the day. Predicting all the factors is very hard.

How can results be improved?

Through independent work: solve different problems, ask the tutor questions, spend free time on interesting problems. You'll be able to relax after getting into university.

Which grade should we start in?

In 10th grade, and for specialized subjects like mathematics some topics are worth studying in depth while still preparing for the OGE — topics build on one another.
