The subject is being taken as an exam this year, and they need to learn the task format, revise topics and learn to solve practice papers.
The subject is not being taken as an exam, but the grade needs to go up — we work with the school curriculum and current topics.
Getting acquainted and talking; the tutor goes through the main topics to understand the student's strengths and weaknesses and where to go from there.
Theory and practice together: we consolidate what has been covered, work through a new topic and solve problems. Every lesson is different — the approach is tailored to the student.
Homework, revision of what has been covered or independent study of materials with questions for the next lesson — as agreed with the tutor.
The tutor draws up a lesson plan for each student individually: the timeframe depends on the knowledge the student starts with and how much they are ready to work on their own. Preparation can take different amounts of time — there is no single number that fits everyone, and promising one would be dishonest.
For specialized subjects like mathematics, preparation starts long before ninth grade: topics stack like bricks, and the foundation is laid from the start of school. But with good motivation it is realistic to prepare in a year.
The tutor gives a substantive answer: which problems you are working on now, what is going well and what isn't, whether the student is making an effort or not yet. We try to avoid generic assessments like “everything is fine” — they are of no use.
Understanding during a lesson doesn't mean the knowledge will stay. It's about attention and concentration: after the lesson the student goes back to their own things, and without consolidation the material is forgotten. That's why homework and revision are needed — understanding is not enough, it has to be reinforced.
Through feedback from the tutor, test results on the platform and the trend in school grades. You can ask the tutor questions directly.
That's normal: every tutor has their own principles and teaching style. You can choose another one on the platform and send them a request.
Choose a tutor by subject, lesson price and reviews — or describe in your own words what needs improving and we will suggest suitable tutors. Then send a request: the tutor will contact you and suggest a time for the first lesson.
